Dreams come true…
Have you ever had that feeling that what you are doing right now, the job or career that you’re currently work at is not what you were meant to do? Well that is how I felt last year. I knew that I wanted to be a writer.
I never had that lifelong dream of becoming a writer but I always wrote. A few years back I began researching into the traditional publishing route, I thought hey, I had all of these stories written I might as well do something with them. I became discouraged after I figured out my odds of being signed with the big six and let that thought lay dormant until last year. It wasn’t until I purchased my Kindle that I found a new way to publish. I fell in love with Indie Authors and knew I could become one of them. I reviewed all of the old stuff I wrote and dismissed it all and quickly began to type a new story with characters that wouldn’t shut up. I typed and typed for days, weeks, and months until my fingers hurt, my eye were watery, and the story was done. Of course, there were some technical aspects along the way… editors, book covers, more editors, etc. But a year later, my dream has come true. My book Fate’s Design was published on March 27, 2012! Was it easy? No, but it has been worth it.
Fate’s Design wasn’t even my first book published. Back in late October 2011, I published another book named, Bound to Remember. The funny thing about writing is sometime the story that you start isn’t always the first one published but that’s another story for another blog post.
Now, let me tell you a little about Fate’s Design… I am a big believer in fate. I always say that everything happens for a reason no matter what it may be… In Fate’s Design, Megan the main character is a dreamer, but her dreams are more nightmarish that fun and cutesy. Morgan her twin sister is a fun-live- in-the- moment kind of girl. Well, the problem is Megan’s dreams start coming true and scarier while on an Italian vacation and one in the form of a handsome stranger. He hopes for more than a fateful meet and greet…and Megan hopes he isn’t a beautiful nightmare… I will leave you with that and hopes you buy it read it and love it!

Lola James has been reading romance novels since her teens, and fell in love with the paranormal after discovering Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. Her love of the dark worlds of vampires and witches, as well as her fascination with Greek mythology led her to create the Spellbound Series, an ongoing Paranormal Romance combining all of the above into tales of suspense with a little bit of humor in an Urban Fantasy setting.
A long time lover of reading and writing with a passion for a great story, James became discouraged by the complicated and arbitrary publishing process, James had initially set down her laptop and her hopes of being a writer. However, with the purchase of her first e-reader, James became re-energized by the new possibilities for an undiscovered author to reach the masses. Dusting off her keyboard she finally finished Bound to Remember, the first book of the Spellbound Series and self-published it. Energized and ambitious, James is now hard at work on both the Spellbound Series as well as the Fate Series, a paranormal romance about dreams and what happens if they come true.
Living in Southern California with her two beautiful children, James finds time to write in between her full-time job as a mother as well as her other full-time job as an HR manager, as well as her academic schedule as she studies for her Master’s degree which she hopes to complete in 2013. With the success of Bound to Remember, James hopes to continue to reach an audience that will allow her to leave her HR job and focus on her writing as a full time career.
