Cover Catch:Concealed

When sixteen year-old Bijou Fitzroy and her nomadic grandmother leave New York City to live in a home in the sleepy town of Sykesville, Maryland, Bijou thinks she will finally be able to live a normal life and be like everyone else. This move will be permanent, and Bijou cannot be anymore thrilled. After years of being shut away by her grandmother, Bijou will finally able to interact with peers, make friends, go to school, and live like a normal teenager.

Moving around and being homeschooled definitely made it difficult to make friends, but there are other reasons for Bijou’s solitude. With eyes that constantly change from gray to green to a honey-coated shade of brown and an ability to feel exactly what other people are feeling, the concept of obtaining closeness is more of a fable than a reality. Although her eyes are beautiful, their constant shift in color instills a sense of fear within other people and causes them to look away. Bijou’s premonitions, blackouts, and semi-prophetic dreams of a faceless boy don’t help her social musings either. Regardless, she decides to attend the local high school.

Bijou is immediately introduced to Sebastian Sinjin, a quirky and unusually beautiful boy who doesn’t seem to belong in a high school in small town Maryland. Sebastian is also special. Instead of looking away from Bijou, he makes direct eye contact with her. And when he shakes Bijou’s hand something dark and familiar begins to awaken within her as an electric shock surges through her body. Bijou soon finds herself deeply attracted to Sebastian, who remains aloof and often acts like Bijou doesn’t exist.

Despite the pains of having her first real crush, Bijou makes friends quickly and excels in all of her classes…well, all except for Mythology with Mr. Jennings. Mr. Jennings’ class starts off great with endless discussions of djinn and how they conceal themselves from the human eye, but things soon take a turn for the worse when the stories of the mythical creatures begin to take shape in Bijou’s life.

Summary:

Invited to train at the Centre under the tutelage of the Daylights, Caia and Lucien immerse themselves in the world of the Head of the Coven, Marita. With a future battle set, and hanging over the heads, Caia and her Alpha struggle to come to terms with Marita's vision for the future of the Coven, as well as withstand her manipulation and plans for them.
Plans that are sure to separate Caia from Pack Errante; plans that inadvertently push Caia not only further from Lucien... but from all Daylights.

Conflicted, Caia must choose a side in the war. And her choice may mean sacrificing all those she has come to love.

Review:
My love for these characters keeps growing!

I love how River Cast was in multiple points of views. Really, only two of them kept my interest but all of them were enjoyable. The characters definitely grew and some of them even came to their senses which made me oh so very happy. River Cast jumped right into the future, not dragging out with the first book but answered all questions that you would of had in the very beginning.

The relationship with the "Alpha's" continued to grow shaky much to my dismay but in the end all worked out for each of them. This continues to show how Alpha men are oblivious to the female race but in the end, i'm sure we all know that they learn on different paces. Don't we just love Alpha men ladies? Yes, we do so say hello to Lucien for he is definitely one of those Alpha men we enjoy. Even if we want to bang his head against a stone wall occasionally.

A lot was going on in River Cast, good things I assure you. Caia was learning more about her magik and she was spending time with out favorite Alpha in France doing so. Everything was going fine with her and her magik, and she's learning a lot of new things. Being a half halfbreed can be a good thing sometimes. Enter Rose. Lucien's exlover. Enough said.

For all of those who loved Ryder as much as I did, we definitely get to see more of him. Ryder is a unique werewolf in the pack, an all mighty man without the Alpha genes which can be a blessing. Not only do we get to see a lot more of him, but something very special happens to him as well.

River Cast was a fantastic follow up book and once more left you hanging in the end, howling for more. I know I can not wait for the third book!

Summary:
Existing in the Shadows of our world are supernatural races - children blessed by the ancient Greek gods with unimaginable gifts, and at present they are fighting a two-thousand year old war with one another.

The Midnight Coven, an alliance of dark magiks, faeries, and daemons born of black magik, believe that the vampyres and lykans are lesser supernaturals and a threat to mankind. They are at war with The Daylight Coven, a confederate of light magiks, faeries, vampyres, and lykans who believe in the equality of the races.

Into this war, seventeen-year old Caia Ribeiro is born... a lykan with a heritage unlike any other.
A heritage that, whether she wants it to or not, will put her into the very heart of battle...

Review:
While it was a rough start, Moon Spell was highly enjoyable and had me howling!

The one thing I hated was in the very beginning I wasn't all too sure who the heroin was. I didn't read the synopsis before jumping into it and it took me a bit to figure out who she was. After a few paged though, I took a hint and figured she was Caia. Getting a good idea of what happened was kind of a trick for me but eventually everything flowed beautifully and I couldn't help but finish it in one sitting!

Caia is a girl with special powers, and I'm not talking about the fact that she's a werewolf. There something different about her and when she is finally able to reunite with her pack, she's not too sure of what to think. Caia is the shy one and when coming to the pack, she feels welcomes despite everything that happened to her. She has one sexy Alpha named Lucien taking care of her, she has friends and enemies, and not to mention a crush one one particular werewolf.

Caia is your average teen werewolf. She's sassy, annoying, careful, nosy, and did I mention annoying? That's just me though... I always want the girl to be with the boy who she doesn't want to be with though there IS attraction between them. Don't mind this ranting. Anyways... Caia has made some mistakes and she's determined to fix them in any way possible. Even if it means upsetting those around her.

For the longest time I have been wanting to read these books but never got the chance so when Samantha asked for a review, I jumped on it. Moon Spell was a fantastic book and it deserves to be on shelves of book stores around the world. I can't wait for the next book for I loved these characters!

Review:Don't Quote Me by Charlie Kramer

Title:Don't Quote Me
Author:Charlie Kramer
Pages:
Publisher:Charlie Kramer (January 21st, 2011)
Source:Received for review
Reading Level:Romance
Rating:three hearts

Summary:
Don’t Quote Me is Claire Montgomery’s story. It’s all about the movie stars of the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s.

London’s hottest fashion photographer, Claire Montgomery has a problem. Several actually. One: she remembers every event in her life by the shoes she is wearing at the time. Two: she has rules around dating. Three: her belief in monogamy stops her from marrying and four: her little hot pink book is literally on fire.

Claire’s a fun loving flirt who lives life by her own rules. She does it with style, in her vintage clothes and her over stuffed shoe closet, the only accessories she needs. Oh and of course she absolutely cannot do without quotes from the movie stars. Think Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Mae West and you’re on the right track.

Greek shipping tycoon, Sebastian Gionis has been announced as a candidate for Chic Magazines, Man of the Year. He’s good with business, not so good at relationships. He’s aloof and his physical presence has Claire’s heart doing its own kind of rumba. In her eyes he makes Rock Hudson and James Dean seem decidedly insignificant.

Sebastian’s appearance shakes up Claire’s life and lands her in therapy before she can hit the road on the way to love.

Review:
Don't Quote Me was such a chick book, I loved it!

Claire was like many girls in the big city, they love what they do and they'd do whatever to get what they want! Claire just wants to have fun, enter her book of men. In this nifty book, lists men of which she enjoyed and wants to enjoy. Claire's boyfriend is a bore, and she just keeps him around for no reason. Claire loves her job, she's a photographer! When Claire meet's her next model, boy does her heart squeeze.

Sebastian is Greek and my oh my is he tempting. Claire must have him! Even if she doesn't really have any room in that nifty book of hers. Her boss gives her advice and Claire takes them, to a certain extent. Claire just wants to have fun, and Sebastian certainly has fun written all over him. So Claire does what any normal girl would do, she flirts to the maximum.

Don't Quote Me had plenty of amazing quotes. Not to mention some from Claire herself! If you're looking for a chick romantic book, then Don't Quote Me is the book for you! Funny, witty, and full of amazing women and men was what this book had and was certainly enjoyable. I can not wait for the next book in the series!

Reading Level:Young Adult
Rating:4 paws

Summary:
Who is Faustine? When Faustine Spencer was five years old, she discovered a secret that changed her life forever. At twelve, her parents sent her to Bonfire Academy in Switzerland to ensure that she received the training needed to control her increasing powers.

Three years later, Faustine returns to Manhattan. All she wants is to be a typical teenager, at least, one that’s part of the in-crowd at her Upper East Side High School. When drop-dead gorgeous Ryker, her long-time crush from the Academy, finally notices her, she couldn’t be happier.

However, her desire for a normal life is shattered when her father, a prominent sovereign, disappears after naming her as his successor. Her siblings begin to disappear, and Faustine finds herself in the midst of a power struggle. With her life in danger, Faustine must learn to follow one of Bonfire Academy’s most important rules: Trust no one.

Review:
Rose really knocked my socks off with this one! I am a huge fan of her Portal Chronicles so when I heard Rose was coming out with a YA paranormal, of course I had to jump on it! Rose has always had an interesting mind so I knew that Faustine was going to be a wild ride, and a wild ride it was!

Faustine Spencer is a very special girl, a very special girl indeed! Faustine was sent to Bonfire Academy, school for paranormals where they are taught to live by certain rules, especially in the "normal" world. Faustine was there for three years and now she finally gets to go home to her mother and what friends that she knew. Not only was going to a normal high school going to be a very different experience, but she gets stared at because of her red eyes. See, I told you she was special.

Faustine gets pulled into a world she never truly knew and gets to team up with witches, demons, and even one very sexy Wanderer names Ryker. If you all read Rose's Portal Chronicles, then you all know she is known for her Wanderers! Have I mentioned how much I love Rose's names for her leading males?! Kellan. Kellan Lutz. Enough said.

Faustine is full of adventure, witches, demons, Wanderers, vampires oh my! Full of suprises, fun, and rules that paranormals must go by if they expect to live in the "normal" world is what Faustine is. Imogen Rose is an author that you do not want to just pass by and forget! Take my word, Rose is very talented and I simply can not wait for more in Faustine's tale because even though I have no idea what will happen next, I am sure Rose will not disappoint!
