Review:Num8ers by Rachel Ward

Title:Num8ers
Author:Rachel Ward
Pages:336
Publisher:The Chicken House;(February 1, 2010)
Source:Won from Fiction Vixen
Reading Level:Young Adult
Rating:Two hearts
Summary:
10102001. That's Jem's mother's number. Jem saw it whenever she looked into her mother's eyes, but it wasn't until four years after the woman's fatal heroin overdose when Jem was 11 that she realized that the number was the date her mother would die. And it's not just that number that the teen sees—she knows when everyone will die by looking into their eyes. Isolating herself from the rest of humanity seems to be the only solution until Spider, a freakishly tall, twitchy mess of a boy, refuses to leave her alone. In spite of the fact that she knows his death date is only months away, she can't resist his overtures of friendship. One afternoon, while ditching school, they head for the London Eye tourist attraction. When Jem realizes that several people standing in line are fated to die that very day, she panics and takes off. Newspapers and television pick up the story, and Jem and Spider, targeted as the terrorists responsible for destroying the Eye, or at least witnesses, are on the run in a stolen car.

Review:
I really wanted to like it but it never got me.
I really loved the idea of the book, but once I started reading it, it didn't get me interested.
I received the books a while ago and started it. Once I finished the first chapter, I put it down and didn't pick it up until yesterday. During class I finished it and it was alright. For me the ending was incredibly disappointing.
There were a few parts I felt sorry, laughed, and some just made me cringe. One of the things I liked was the setting. Because the setting is England, they use English words and I enjoy reading them. The cover is amazing! The cover was the first thing I liked about the book. As well as the chapter picture of numbers.

Review:Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

Title:Vampire Kisses
Author:Ellen Schreiber
Pages:208
Publisher:Katherine Tegen Books (August 5, 2003)
Source:Bought
Reading level:Young Adult
Rating:Four Hearts

Summary:
Raven, 16, doesn't fit in at school or home. This goth-girl is obsessed with vampires and when a new family moves into the old town mansion, she is convinced that the son, Alexander, is a vampire. The story swirls around and through sibling rivalry, peer relationships, friendships, and love. Raven is a feisty protagonist with a quick wit and a real sense of self. She defends herself and her friends, often besting her peers with humor and a quick tongue. As her connection with Alexander deepens, she comes to understand her family better. It is through his shadowy character that readers are kept off balance.

Review:
I loved this book from the start. I came across this book a few years back and loved it. Its the usual forbidden love with a twist. You will never find another book like this. If you are a fan of Twilight but is looking for a little more, well, VAMPIRE! you must buy Vampire Kisses. The one thing I hate about the series is that the books come out every once a year! How am I supposed to wait that long?!?!?
For those of you who are already a fan you all know that the year is well worth the wait. For those of you who don't, trust me, you will see our side soon.
Trust me, you will fall in love with Raven and will be drooling over Alexander and Trevor, I do!

Heres 30% of the books.

Review:Rules Of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

Title:Rules Of Attraction
Author:Simone Elkeles
Pages:336
Publishers:Walker Books(April 13, 2010)
Source:Bought and received a personalized copy from author
Reading Level:Young Adult
Rating:Four Hearts

Summary:
Carlos Fuentes doesn't want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him in Boulder, Colorado. He wants to keep living on the edge, and carve his own path—just like Alex did. Unfortunately, his ties to a Mexican gang aren't easy to break, and he soon finds himself being set up by a drug lord.

When Alex arranges for Carlos to live with his former professor and his family to keep him from being sent to jail, Carlos feels completely out of place. He's even more thrown by his strong feelings for the professor's daughter, Kiara, who is nothing like the girls he's usually drawn to. But Carlos and Kiara soon discover that in matters of the heart, the rules of attraction overpower the social differences that conspire to keep them apart.

As the danger grows for Carlos, he's shocked to discover that it's this seemingly All-American family who can save him. But is he willing to endanger their safety for a chance at the kind of life he's never even dreamed possible?

Review:
LOVED IT!
I thought I was in love with Alex but boy was I wrong. Carlos is everything Alex is but more. Now if only I were Mrs. Carlos Fuentes, just saying.
After I read Perfect Chemistry I was DYING to get Rules Of Attraction. I must have watched the trailer a thousand times and read the excerpts plenty of times.
It was finally April 13th and I couldn't wait till I got the book. I sat down and didn't stop until I was done. It was AMAZING!
I got my older cousin, three girlfriends, even a guy friend into Perfect Chemistry so they couldn't wait for Rules Of Attraction. They loved it as well.
Rules Of Attraction was also about Carlos and Kiara, but it was also about life. It was Perfect Chemistry and beyond. If you liked Perfect Chemistry, you'll love Rules Of Attraction. I fell in love with yet another Fuentes brother.
Let's just say im counting the days until little Luis's book. 2011 cant come quick enough.

Amazing Trailer:

The Fuentes brothers are SEXY!

My Cousins Tumblr

Hey ALL!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my latest review, Twenty Boy Summer.
Anyways, my cousin has a Tumblr and for you fashion loving people you should ckeck her out.
On her pages is one of our conversations we JUST had. Here's how it went:
Leilani: "is this the same song?"
Me: "My vagina hurts"
Leilani: ".....i ask you a simple fucking question and you come out with this!"

Its on her page so the "Me" is her.
My family is VERY different from most families so this is how we talk to each other. I love my cousin no matter how much she just really gets on my nerves. This is the kind of relationship we have. A love hate relationship.
You should see us in the morning. One day i'll secretly record us and show you. We're so crazy you'll think were acting, but trust me. We're not.

Anyways so heres her link:
http://inhoustatlantavegas.tumblr.com
And yes, she LOVES Drake.
And yes she lives with me. Along with like 10 other family members. Our family has almost every race. We just need some European.
Though we mutts we look GOOD! Lol.
We're one HUGE crazy family. I swear we should have our own t.v show but then... maybe not.

Title:Twenty Boy Summer
Author:Sarah Ockler

Summary:
“Don’t worry, Anna. I’ll tell her, okay? Just let me think about the best way to do it.”
“Okay.”
“Promise me? Promise you won’t say anything?”
“Don’t worry.” I laughed. “It’s our secret, right?”

According to Anna’s best friend, Frankie, twenty days in Zanzibar Bay is the perfect opportunity to have a summer fling, and if they meet one boy every day, there’s a pretty good chance Anna will find her first summer romance. Anna lightheartedly agrees to the game, but there’s something she hasn’t told Frankie–she’s already had her romance, and it was with Frankie’s older brother, Matt, just before his tragic death one year ago.

TWENTY BOY SUMMER explores what it truly means to love someone, what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every beautiful moment life has to offer.

Review:
Very few books make me cry. And this was defiantly one of them.
I was browsing the web for books when I came across this book. When I read the title and the excerpt I knew I wanted the book.
It was in the first hundred pages I started crying. As we all know, Matt dies in the first few pages. It wasn't until Anna starts thinking of him or things remind her of him that you can feel just how much she really loved him.
Twenty Boy Summer was full of laughs, tears, and a little "OH MY GOD!"s. The ending was a little disappointing to me, but I can only wish there was a second. If there is, than I will be getting it without a doubt.

Start the weekend reviewing

I just posted my first review for the day, Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
I posted the review first because I wanted people to see this when they logged onto my page. But if you are one of my lovely followers you will see both anyways.
Any who, so I began with Simone, and im going to end with Simone. On Sunday night right before I hit the sack, im going to post my review for Rules Of Attraction by Simone Elkeles! YAY!
I was out shopping with the girls so I am beat. I will probably post one of my ARC books before I go to bed tonight because I cant remember if I read any other books while I was away. I'll have to check.
So, expect at least on more review today and hopefully at least two more tomorrow.
Thank you my lovely reader and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

P.S I just got Twenty Boy Summer today so maybe ill post that today or tomorrow or some other day.
P.P.S I read Leaving Paradise in like two and a half hours while I was sitting in Borders today.

Summary:
Nothing has been the same since Caleb Becker left a party drunk, got behind the wheel, and hit Maggie Armstrong. Even after months of painful physical therapy, Maggie walks with a limp. Her social life is nil and a scholarship to study abroad—her chance to escape everyone and their pitying stares—has been canceled.
After a year in juvenile jail, Caleb’s free . . . if freedom means endless nagging from a transition coach and the prying eyes of the entire town. Coming home should feel good, but his family and ex-girlfriend seem like strangers.
Caleb and Maggie are outsiders, pigeon-holed as "criminal" and "freak." Then the truth emerges about what really happened the night of the accident and, once again, everything changes. It’s a bleak and tortuous journey for Caleb and Maggie, yet they end up finding comfort and strength from a surprising source: each other.

Review:
The idea of this book was brilliant. As for the story, I think it could have been better. I am a HUGE fan of Simone Elkeles's Perfect Chemistry series so I expected it to be just as good as Perfect Chemistry and Rules Of Attraction.
I loved how Caleb and Maggie began to find comfort in each other. If you cut out everything else besides the scenes where they would be together I would have been happier.
There is a few things in the book I would love to write about but I don't want to give anything away so I wont. If you want to know anything deeper you can always contact me.
As for the ending, it made me a little sad but defiantly made me want to know more. I wished I enjoyed it more, but I will defiantly be getting the second book.

Clear Away The Clutter Read-A-Thon Activity 4

Clear Away the Clutter Read-A-Thon is hosted by The Neverending Shelf
This activity is hosted by Teens Read And Write

Rules:
Answer these questions and go HERE to enter a contest.

1.) Is there at least one book on your growing TBR that has been there forever and (if you were honest) you could give up without to much trauma?

This is a hard one for me. Believe it or not I reread all of my books. There are a couple books I could go without and I already have a future contest planned for them :]

2.) What is your latest "Gotta Have It" book? (that you can get once you've given up that one in question #1)

Hmmm, I have so many books its not even funny. I have like a huge TBR pile, a virtual pile because if I had them they would be read and reviewed. Even if I give up the book(s) from question 1, I still have to get the books.

3.) What are your classics - you're 'comfort books' that you never want to give up?

Hmm, once again I have so many! I have a separation problem with my books, so as long as I can help it, they will stay right were they belong.

4.) What are your best tips for keeping that TBR in check?

SORRY! Im a crazy reader so this may not be the best question for me to answer. I read my books front to back. I dont stop until im done. For example, I read the WHOLE Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward and the Sookie Stackhouse series in ONE day. Not the same day, but you get the point.
Once again, I may be the wrong person to ask this question.

Review:Marrying For Kings Millions by Maureen Child

Title:Marrying For Kings Millions
Author:Maureen Child
Pages:192
Publisher:Silhouette (April 8, 2008)
Source:Won from My Overstuffed Bookshelf
Reading Level:Romance
Rating:Two hearts

Summary:
Wed and bed one of his biggest client's unsavory daughters? No thanks. But the only way millionaire Travis King could get the man off his back was to marry someone else. So he handpicked his temporary and on-his-terms bride--hometown girl Julie O'Hara. The woman was desperate and should easily fade into the background. And, as per their contract, she'd do exactly what he wanted during their year of platonic marriage. Unless what he wanted began to change..
.

Review:
First of all, I am fimiliar with Maureen Child's work and was not disappointed. Before reading I knew it was going to be good. Expect more from her in the future.
Second, I have a couple from the Silhouette and Halrequin publishers and though small, incredibly enjoyable. I suppose because they a small, they are quick to the pint and delicious. Like all of my books from them, Marrying For Kings Millions was defiantly enjoyable.
I suppose if I was put into this kind of situation, I would want it to turn out like this. Maybe not how it began and was in the middle but im sure the ladies understand me, or not.
There are more brothers in the series and I will defiantly get their books as well.

Clear Away The Clutter Read-A-Thon Activity 1

Okay so over at Bookworming in the 21st Century, is the first activity!
YAY! So, it seems this particular bookaholic has a book storing problem. Her books are EVERYWHERE!
The activity was to tak a few pics of your book shelf and give helpful tips. Basically.

Heres what you have to do:
#1 I want a picture. Whether you want to prove to me that you truly are more organized and don't have a problem or want to face your reality and show me what's wrong. Maybe it's a stack of review books, an untidy bookshelf, or books lining the space next to your bed or couch.. or a really tidy bookshelf that will make me envious..

If you don't have a camera, you can describe it for me. :)

#2 Make a plan. How are you going to break through those 10 review books? How do you plan to move the books from the floor to... bins, bookshelves, etc.. or if you're a super organized person, share a tip!

#3 Implement the plan. Plan to work on this during the readathon - whether it's tackling a stack at a time, reading a review book every other book you read, etc. Start TODAY. :)

Read more: http://www.bookworminginthe21stcentury.com/2010/04/readathon-activity-1-clutter-and.html#ixzz0kFVjYoV2

My plan- I have like over ten books to review which I have already read. Then I have like six books to read and then review. I plan on doing that this week.

Picture:
All of my books are in my loft.
I had to empty out these crates to put of my books. I like to organize them by Genre then by author.
My book shelf is small so I had to get the crates. Knowing how quickly I go through books (I read a 700 page book in 4 hours. No im not lying)im going to need more crates :)
The blanket-Under the blanket is my fish tank. Its in the wall so you can see into the living room or from the living room you can look into my loft. I prefer people not to look in, hence the blanket.
Christmas lights- I like them. When my room is dark, they give a little light.

Thanks!

Review:Hero At Large by Janet Evanovich

Title:Hero At Large
Author:Janet Evanovich
Pages:320
Publisher:Harper;(March 30, 2010)
Source:Bought
Reading Level:Fiction
Rating:Two hearts

Summary:
He cooks a pot holder in the spaghetti sauce and needs lessons on making Jell-O. Still, single mom and ice skating coach Chris Nelson is committed to keeping her sexy, scruffy, new "house husband" around. After all, she did break his arm...and his toe...and she can't just turn him out into the cold...

It seemed like luck when this gorgeous stranger first stopped to help Chris with her car, but suddenly her peaceful life turns topsy-turvy as tender, long-suffering Ken Callahan enlists the sympathies of her 7-year-old daughter and her meddlesome Aunt Edna. And even Chris can't deny the excitement his magnetic blue-black eyes spark deep within her...But who is he?

Review:
I had just heard about the book and the same day happened to be in a drug store and picked up a copy.
Hero At Large was incredibly cute. Some of the things made me laugh, and some...well, just made me want to beat the crap out of this girl. I meet very few characters like that.
The characters in Hero At Large are real. How the characters met was very realistic and perfect. Believe it or not these things may happen to some people in this world.
I dont do much Fiction reading, I prefer romance, but I will give a thumbs up to this book.
The cover is really cute and if you read the book, I assure you, it will make you laugh.

New Background!

Hey All!
I changed my background at Blogger Draft
Go to the Layout page once you get there and youll see a new button next to the pick a new template. There you can customize it. The one thing I dont like is the bar on the very bottum, you cant change the color, but you can change the color of the font.

Wat do you think?
It kinda represents me. Its dark and spooky, yet has a girl vibe.
Thats me! The Girly Vampire!

Thanks!
