Summary:
Will she get another chance with the vamp that got away?
As the only human to survive vampire infection, Milagro de Los Santos has become quite a celebrity among the blood-drinking elite. Too bad the perks of her condition—increased strength, super-fast healing—don’t pay her condo fees. There are other complications too. She feels guilty about her fling with decadent, enigmatic Vampire Council member Ian Ducharme, and she pines for her ex-fiancĂ©, Dr. Oswald Grant . . . the fabulous man whose kiss changed her life.
It’s when Milagro—upset by Ian’s attentions to his neighbor—travels to London and enjoys a sexy flirtation of her own, that the blood really hits the fan. Suddenly, those around her are dying gruesome deaths and Milagro’s being interrogated. Who would kill to set her up as a murder suspect?
All she wants to is turn back the clock and have another chance to make things right. No sooner has she escaped to Oswald’s ranch than an accident obliterates her memory. Will the murderer come after her, and will amnesia spark a romantic do-over with Oswald—or will Milagro make all the same mistakes before she ever gets to say “I do”?
Review:
I am so glad that Milagro finally had her honeymoon!
From Happy Hour At Casa Dracula to Haunted Honeymoon, I feel like Milagro has grown so much as a woman and I completely enjoyed watching her grow. She has been through so many things in a short time, and I must admit I enjoyed every second of it!
Marta Acosta came up with a unique how vampires behave in her world and it was nothing but fun! My older cousin who hardly reads, is in love with this series as well. She says Haunted Honeymoon was a miraculous ending. I must agree! Though I never wanted this series to end, the ending was not a disappointment!
Acosta really knows how to make a girl scream! So many things were frustrating but this wouldnt have been complete if it wasnt! Milagro always seems to surprise me in every book. I may think she is one thing when she is entirely another. As for the others, they always seem to surprise me as well! Do you see the pattern? Acosta is just full of surprises! A book wouldn't be a good book if you arnt flipping through every page wanting to know whats next and gasping in shock on every other page!
In Haunted Honeymoon we get reintroduced, to some fascinating characters. Some we love, some we despise. All enjoyable in their own way. With the characters, Milagro's story continues. Without them, im sure not only would Acosta run out of things to say, but im sure there are just certain things we just dont care about that we dont want to read. While in m personal opinion, I wanted to strangle a few characters, im not going to name names, but that is always fun. It means that the author had just caught your attention in a way that makes you want to go in the book just to hurt, hug, or kiss the character. Acosta tends to do that through out her series.
I am extremely happy about how Acosta ended this yummy series. It couldnt have been a better ending, not in my book! Though it was slightly shocking at times, I must say that in the end, all of the shock was worth it! If the shock of certain scenes didnt happen, Haunted Honeymoon would not be as fabulous as it is!! I think Milagro should have one more book, but knowing Acosta, if Milagro did all hell would be loose! Haunted Honeymoon was an amazing ending to such an amazing series. I was glad I could witness such a love story between a "human" and a "vampire".
